Tackle complacency and get active: Azad to Congress
It was felt during the meeting that there should be a state-level mass contact programme undertaken by the party immediately to nullify the criticism that the Congress was not interested in the welfare of the people.
Mr Azad reportedly told the panel that this type of complacency by Congressmen was intolerable and advised them to take up the mass contract programme immediately.
“When we have a number of welfare and development schemes, that too in an unprecedented manner, why is that the party is not going to the people? Why should there be complacency? What is wrong with the leaders here?” Mr Azad reportedly asked the panel members.
He also advised both the Chief Minister and the PCC chief to take immediate measures and ensure that all nominated posts were filled without any delay.
“I want the party to be geared up to counter the Opposition’s offensive and hectic activity should be seen at every place in the state,” Mr Azad reportedly remarked.
He also asked the government to overcome the legal hurdles in holding local body polls and to conduct them without much delay.
