Angered by the induction of PRP MLC Mr Ramachandraiah into the ministry, Kamalapuram congress MLA of Kadapa district Mr Veerasiva reddy tendered his resignation from the assembly.

Immediately after the swearing in ceremony, Veerasiva reddy met CM Kirankumar reddy and submitted his quit letter. However, Kirankumar rejected his resignation and consoled him saying he would take care of his political interests in the district.

Veerasiva reddy opposed the induction of Ramachandraiah into the Cabinet from the very beginning with the view his political future would be at stake in the district as the latter also hailed from the Kadapa district.

Veerasiva reddy later told journalists that he has withdrawn his resignation following an assurance from Kirankumar reddy that his interests in the district would be protected under any circumstances. (JUBS)
