Chief Minister Kirankumar Reddy today met congress president Sonia Gandhi along with the Union Minister and in-charge of the congress affairs in AP Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad and held consultations on the possible cabinet expansion.
Kirankumar Reddy, who arrived in Delhi last night, discussed the issue with Azad immediately on his arrival and told him he would rejig his cabinet on Jan 24, Padyami, the first day of the auspicious lunar Magha Masam.
Kirankumar also sought permission to induct two or three ministers from the Telangana region into his cabinet along with two PRP members on the same day. Kiran, who met Azad for more than 1 hour at his residence, held discussions on the possibility of a full fledged expansion.
However, prior to their meeting, APCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana also met Azad and requested him not to accede to the suggestions of the Chief Minister.
It is learnt Azad had not assured anything to both of them on their requests and simply told them he would talk to the party president Sonia Gandhi and then convey her decision.
Kiran was also said to have submitted a report containing his responses to the criticism leveled against him by his rival groups in the party in the last state congress coordination (core committee) committee meeting held in Hyderabad. (JUBS)
