The CBI today grilled the congress Rajya Sabha member Mr KVP Ramachandra Rao on his role in the Emaar-APIIC land scam.
Following the summons issued by the CBI, Ramachandra rao turned up at the make shift office of the CBI at Dilkusha guest house in Hyderabad this morning and answered several questions on his role in the scam.
KVP, the Man Friday of the late YSR, was asked to explain on his role in Emaar-MGF agreement, reduction of the APIIC stake in the Emaar Township venture and the role he and his close relatives played in the sales of villas and plots in the Emaar ventures.
It might be recalled that KVP and his close relatives had held plots and villas in the Emaar Township venture. There are reports that they got these plots and villas on quid pro quo basis from the Emaar Properties for doing favours to the company. (JUBS)
