Jagan offers to merge party with Congress?

A leading national daily today carried a news story that YSR congress party president YS Jaganmohan reddy has offered to merge his party with the congress at the time of the 2014 polls on the condition that he should not be arrested in the illegal assets case.

The gist of the offer made by Jagan is that he would completely decimate the TDP ahead of his merger and rally round the Reddy community people behind the congress ahead of the 2014 polls in the state and prior to his party’s merger with the congress.

The only condition put forth by Jagan, according to the daily, is that PRP leader Chiranjeevi and his men should be kept of out the state or central cabinets.

The congress high command has not yet reacted to the proposal but the daily said that the party leadership is ready to consider the offer of Jagan.

The daily further said there are indications that the party leadership is willing to consider the offer of Jagan. The first indication is that the CBI is going very slow in the illegal assets case of Jagan and the second one is the postponement of the induction of PRP men into the state cabinet.

Jagan reportedly conveyed his proposal to the party high command and also to Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister and in charge of the AP Congress affairs through two of his close friends,  Rohtak Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda (son of Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda ) and MIM MP from Hyderabad Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi.

The offer was made by Jagan during his recent trip to Delhi in the name of meeting central leaders to seek solution to the farmers’ problems in the state.

Jagan’s open letter to the daily

Jagan wrote an open letter to the daily accusing it of joining the yellow media in the state in carrying out false propaganda against him.

“An yellow media syndicate has been working against me at the instance of the TDP and their aim is to tarnish my image. It is very unfortunate that you also joined the yellow syndicate to tarnish my image,” he charged the daily. (JUBS)
