A major fire broke out in the Kallam Ginning Mills at Dokiparru in Perecharla Mandalam of Guntur district this evening.
The fire, the cause of which is not yet known, spread to the entire premises with in no time resulting in destruction of cotton stocks worth Rs.2 Cr stored in the mill.
Police rushed to the spot with fire tenders and brought the fire under control. Fortunately, no loss of life was reported in the accident. Police have registered a case and are investigating. (JUBS)
