The Siberian city court of Tomsk in Russia today dismissed a petition that sought ban on the distribution of the Russian version of the “Bhagavad Gita As It Is” originally written by AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of the international Hare Krishna movement, ISKCON.
The Hindus and the ISKCON devotees in Moscow raised a hue and cry over the petition that sought a ban on the Gita on the ground that it was extremist literature and promoting social discord.
The court dismissed the petition saying that the grounds presented by the petitioners are frivolous and contained no merit. (JUBS)
