The special CBI court today remanded the senior IAS officer Y. Srilakshmi to judicial custody till Dec 12. She was then shifted to the Chanchalguda jail.
The court sent her to judicial remand when she was produced before it by the CBI at the close of her custody at 4 pm.
Meanwhile, special judge Nagamaruthi Sarma reserved his orders for Friday on the bail petition of Srilakshmi after a one and a half hour arguments. Her lawyers contended that Srilakshmi did everything at the behest of the then mining minister Sabitha Indra Reddy.
“The decision to allot mines to Gali Janardhan reddy was taken by the Government very much earlier before she became the mining secretary. She just followed the orders of Sabitha Indra Reddy. And, she is not in a position to destroy evidence, if any, against her,” her counsel pleaded with the court seeking bail for her.
Srilakshmi counsel said her client’s health is also not good and bail should be granted at least on health grounds.
CBI however objected to the arguments and said Srilakshmi has been breaking down for each and every thing during questioning and all her medical certificates were bogus. “She should not be granted bail under any circumstances,” said CBI counsel. (JUBS)
