Tainted IAS officer Srilakshmi, who was the fourth accused in the illegal mining case involving the former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan reddy, failed to get an appointment with the chief minister Kirankumar reddy.
Reports said Srilakshmi went to the camp office of Kirankumar early Wednesday morning and waited for more than half an hour seeking an appointment with him. But officials at the camp office told her CM was not free to meet her. She waited and waited and at last returned from the camp office in utter disappointment.
Srilakshmi’s leave ended on Wednesday and she was to join duty today. But the CM has already appointed Mr Lokesh Kumar in her place as the Commissioner, Family Welfare Department which she was holding till she went on leave a few days ago.
She was not given any new post also and in this connection she wanted to meet the CM and discuss the issue.
There are reports that Srilakshmi also dashed off a letter to the CM indicating that she was made a scapegoat in the illegal mining case. “I worked at the behest of politicians but now I was made a scapegoat and left to defend myself in the case,” she vented her anger in the letter.
She, along with Mr Rajagopal, former mining department director, is now facing a questioning session at the CBI office at Koti in Hyderabad.
