Hearing on Vijayamma petition adjourned

The high court of AP today heard arguments on behalf of Pulivendula YSRC MLA Ms. YS Vijayamma who filed a PIL against TDP chief Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu seeking CBI investigation into his alleged illegal properties.

The division bench, consisting of the acting Chief Justice Mr Justice Ghulam Mahammad and Justice N. Rammohana Rao, adjourned hearing to a further date on the admissibility of the petition saying the date would be notified shortly.

Arguing on behalf of the petitioner, Supreme Court lawyer Mr Sushil Kumar asked the court to order a preliminary CBI investigation into the illegalities committed by Chandrababu Naidu during his regime in the state.

Sushil Kumar argued that the state exchequer suffered a loss of Rs.8000 Cr as Naidu allotted lands at cheap rates to the IMG organization. “The state suffered heavy losses as the former chief minister allotted KG basin project to the Reliance,” said the counsel, adding Naidu’s friends and close allies only benefited from this allotment.

The counsel requested the court to order a preliminary investigation into the allotment of lands and contracts and then take action based on the results of the investigation.
