The state government today issued notification to fill 20,429 posts in the police department while green signaling the authorities to fill up 1100 vacancies of lecturer posts in Government junior colleges.

The notification says that out of the said number of posts vacant in the police department, 18, 905 vacancies are related to constable posts while 645 posts to special police. The remaining 704 vacancies would be filled up in the fire department.

The lecturer posts are lying vacant for the last three years and the government had to postpone the examinations twice after giving notifications. The APPSC was forced to postpone the recruitment process twice as the T agitators raised a hue and cry over the zonal system.

The government has decided to complete the process of recruitment of lecturers by hook or crook this time by completing the examinations in November itself.

Out of the 1100 vacancies, 136 vacancies are related to Telugu faculty while 83 vacancies are lying in the History faculty.
