The Sakalu Janula Samme demanding the separate statehood for Telangana reached the twenty third day, the State Transport Corporation protest has reached the seventeenth day. Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) Chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) returns to Hyderabad today after a brief visit to Delhi, to discuss with the centre regarding the Telangana issue. Since Tuesday was inauspicious the KCR planned to arrive today says party sources.
Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) Chairman Kodandaram said the visit to the nation’s capital was of much use, they were able to convey the message of the Telangana people to the various party leaders to gain support for the movement. He regretted the attack on the busses and reiterated that there fight was only with the centre and not with Seemandhra people. The JAC has called for an ahimsa protest. He also informed that the protest shall go on till the end of the month, as per the circumstantial needs and if needed shall be intensified and extended.
In a separate incident a bus was set to blaze by some unknown miscreants last night. The bus going from Hyderabad to Prakasam district was followed by two miscreants on a two wheeler. As soon as at it reached the Miyapur – Bolaram circle the duo stopped the bus and doused the bus with petrol, from the bottles brought by them and lit fire to the bus. The crew and the passengers got panicky and jumped out of the bus. No causalities are reported. But the property damages are yet to be assessed. Meanwhile fire brigade was pressed into service and police are on the hunt for the duo. The express highway leading to Mumbai has been suspended for the night.
