Azahar son injured in bike race, battling for lifeFormer cricketer Mr.Azaharuddin’s second son Mr.Ayazuddin, 22, sustained serious injuries in a road accident this morning in Hyderabadand his condition is stated to be critical. He is battling for life in a corporate hospital in the city. 

He is being treated in the ICU at the Apollo hospital at Jubiliee Hills and the doctors said he is in coma. “He has been put on ventilator and a team of specialists is attending on him,” said the Apollo hospital doctors.

Azahar’s nephew Azmal, grandson of former MP Mr Khalil-ur-Rehman, who was riding on the pillion, was also critically injured in the incident.

Azaharuddin, who was in London to witness the Indian-England cricket matches, was informed of the incident and is rushing back to Hyderabad. He will arrive in Hyderabadin a special flight from London late tonight.

Mr.Ayazuddin fell down from his1000 CC sports vehicle which he was riding as part of the Sunday bike race along with some of his friends. The accident occurred at Pupplaguda toll gate near Rajendranagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad.


“He lost control of his vehicle and fell down,” said police and the witnesses. 

Mr.Ayazuddin was born to Azaharuddin and his divorced first wife Nausad and is said to be a cricketer in his school.

Several prominent personalities and politicians have visited the Apollo Hospital to inquire about the condition of Mr. Ayazuddin.

It might be recalled that the son of veteran Tollywood actor Mr Kota Srinivasa Rao was also killed in a roadaccident some months ago at the same spot.
