Despite the reports that the CBI had seized Rs. 3 Cr in cash and 30 kg of gold when it raided the houses of mining mafia don Gali Janardhan reddy and his brother-in-law Mr Srinivasa reddy in Bellary, sources revealed that the actual seized cash amounted to Rs.60 Cr during the entire searches. The actual seized gold amounted to 60 kg.

CBI teams continued their searches in the premises of Janardhan reddy on the second day on Tuesday and recovered the booty, according to sources. Reports also said that a dining table and chairs made of gold were recovered from the house. CBI officials were shocked to find the doors of the Puja room made of pure gold.

The cash bundles of Rs.60 Cr were found in three suitcases in the secret cellar of Kutir, the residence of Janardhan reddy. The raiding officials have also recovered two suitcases of currency bundles in the cellar of his apartment ‘Parijatha’ in Bangalore. It is learnt that CBI has also seized the gold ornaments of Janardhanreddy’s wife Ms Aruna.

It is learnt that most of the relatives of Gali brothers have locked their houses and downed their shops in Bellary and left the town for fear of being raided by the CBI teams.
