KU Students attack Ponnala House

PonnalaHousePro-Telangana students of the Kakathiya University today attacked the house of Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah in Warangal town with stones and destroyed window panes demanding his resignation in support of the Telangana agitation.

Not even a single policeman was present at the house when the students gathered in good number at Ponnala’s house and raised slogans against him.  Grabbing the opportunity, some of the students trespassed into the house and tore away the photo of congress president Sonia Gandhi that was hanging to the wall while others attacked the doors and windows with stones.

Later, they demonstrated for nearly two hours demanding the resignation of Ponnala from the assembly and the minister’s post. But soon police arrived there in good number and took nearly 50 students into custody. The action resulted in some mild tension in the area as students argued vehemently with the police and resisted the arrests.
