A low intensity earthquake struck the villages of Pellimarri and Balijepalli in the Kalsepadu Mandalam of Kadapa district today.
Villagers said there was no loss of life or property but they came out of their houses with fear due to the quake. “We felt the quake around 12 noon and we heard some peculiar sounds also,” some of the villagers said.
Officials in Badvelu said that the quake lasted for two to five seconds. However the details of the intensity of the quake on the Richter scale were not available.
