Agricultural task force teams today raided the Haritha Fertilizers factories and go-downs at Damaracharla in Nalgonda district and seized unaccounted urea of 911 tonnes and potassium of 382 tonnes from its premises.
This factory was owned by Mr Ravindranath reddy, former Kadapa Mayor and brother-in-law of late YSR. Ravindranath reddy is the brother of Ms. YS Vijayamma, widow of YSR.
The officials of the agricultural department has also raided several fertilizer mixing units in East Godavari district and seized unaccounted urea to the tune of 1500 tonnes. The total quantity of urea and potash seized from various mixing units across AP today stood at 5400 tonnes.
The fertilizer seized would be distributed to the farmers free of cost, officials said in Nalgonda. According to sources, some of the mixing units which have resorted to illegalities may be closed down by the authorities.
