Police has thrown an unprecedented security cordon around the state secretariat in Hyderabad to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in its surroundings.
Thousands of steel helmeted police personnel including those from the Rapid Action Force have taken up positions inside and outside the secretariat in view of the continuous bandhs and all people’s strike proposed to be commencing from August 17.
City police commissioner AK Khan has already imposed section 144 in the entire city and warned that strict action would be taken against those who assemble unlawfully. “No meetings and processions would be allowed with out permission,” said Khan in a statement.
Meanwhile, 4000 security personnel are gearing up to take positions in advance at the BHEL premises near Hyderabad to ensure smooth conduct of SI examinations on August 13 and 14 in view of the threat of TRS and OU students to block the examinations.
