Protesting against the statement of the Union Home Minister Mr P. Chidambaram that the people of Andhra Pradesh only should find a solution to the Telangana imbroglio, TRS activists today burnt his effigy in Chennur town of the Adilabad district.

The activists rallied together on the main road and organized procession with the effigy before burning it in the town’s main centre amid slogans of Jai Telangana.

Chidambaram, while speaking over the issue of Telangana during a calling attention motion on Friday in the Lok Sabha, said there was no consensus on the issue among the AP political parties. He asked them to discuss the issue among themselves and find a solution. “We are trying to reach a consensus in our party on Telangana and other parties also should do the same,” he said.

In a similar incident, students, TRS activists and pro-Telangana elements burnt the effigy of Chidambaram in Kottaguda of Warangal district.
