The University of Southern Mississippi and Murray State University have in principle agreed to admit into their rolls the abandoned Telugu students of the North Virginia University. It might be mentioned that the US authorities had asked majority of the students of the North Virginia University to leave its premises immediately last week as their admissions were found to be unauthorized.

Disclosing this to media persons in Washington today, the TANA president Prasad Totakura and Treasurer Satish Vemana said that students should submit their applications immediately or during this week at least to finish the process of transfers and admissions quickly.

“The students can get transfers but not their credits,” they said after meeting the senior officials of the Indian Embassy in Washington. The TANA representatives said they explained the pitiable conditions of the Telugu students to the senior officials of the Embassy and requested them to find a quick solution to the problem.

The TANA is arranging a question-answer session with legal experts for the sake of students at the Indian Embassy in Washington for two hours from 2 pm on August 4.
