Jagan fails to get stay from apex court

jagan2In a major disappointment for the YSR congress president YS Jaganmohan reddy, the Supreme Court today refused to grant a stay on the AP High Court orders asking the CBI to conduct a preliminary investigation into his alleged illegal accumulation of wealth and submit a sealed cover report with in two weeks.

The apex court, after hearing the arguments of Jagan’s counsels, said the High Court’s orders were of interim nature and the report to be submitted by the CBI would only be preliminary and therefore a stay couldn’t be granted.

“It wouldn’t be appropriate for this court to involve at this stage and stop the CBI inquiry by granting a stay,” said the apex court. The SC however asked the High Court to hand over a copy of  the CBI report to Jagan in case it finds reason to proceede against him and orders further probe.
