Workers of the Singareni Collieries called off their 3-day old strike following the government’s assurance to solve their problems sympathetically.
The workers’ representatives, led by their AITUC leaders, held discussions with the chief minister Kirankumar reddy at the latter’s camp office in Hyderabad last night. The AITUC leaders announced today that the talks were successful and they have decided to withdraw the strike.
The workers began attending duties since this morning following the government’s assurance to solve their problems. The chief minister thanked the workers for calling off the strike and attending to duties. In a press note released to the media, the CMO office said that the government is committed to solve the issues raised by the workers’ representatives.
