The YSR Congress-led dharnas opposite the District Collectorates across the state demanding solution to the problems of farmers had led to tension in some Telangana districts today as the pro-Telangana elements and TRS activists objected to the program and clashed with the Jagan supporters.

TRS supporters tried to stop the dharnas launched by the YSR congress activists in Khammam, Warangal, Karimnagar and Rangareddy districts resulting police lathi charge.

The students of the Kakatiya University at Warangal objected to the dharna demanding that Jagan should first reveal his stance on Telangana issue. Some unidentified people burnt the vehicle of a local YSR Congress leader.

Tension prevailed in Khammam too where the pro-Telangana activists asked the dharna participants to reveal their party’s stance on Telangana first and then take up programmes for the sake of farmers.

At several places, police had to disperse the clashing groups by force to restore normalcy before the Collectorates.
