Nataraja consigned to flames with state honours

The mortal remains of the veteran classical dance guru Padmasri Dr Nataraja Ramakrishna, who passed away Tuesday morning at the NIMS, were consigned to flames today with full state honours. The final rites took place at the Domalguda burial ground in Hyderabad.
Earlier, hundreds of fans and disciples attended the funeral procession of the world famous dance maestro which began at his Begum pet residence. On behalf of the government, Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah paid last respects by placing a wreath on the body of Ramakrishna.
Veteran actress Jamuna and TDP senior leader Varla Ramaiah accompanied the funeral procession.
