Mr Srinivasan, member of the Satya Sai Central Trust, said today that all financial affairs of the trust are going on smoothly and there are no problems at all. Mr Srinivasan was grilled by the police for nearly 6 hours on Monday in the Rs.35 lakh cash seizure case.
Speaking at a media conference in Puttaparthy for the first time after receiving notice from the government on Monday that sought complete details of the trust, Mr Srinivasan said that they are ensuring that the trust doesn’t run out of funds for running its activities.
“All the donations coming to the trust are being deposited in the bank without any delay but we don’t know any thing about the cash accumulated in the Yajurmandiram which was opened only after the Samadhi of the Baba,” he said. “The inventory was taken in the presence of VIPs and the amount deposited in the bank,” he said.
He said several people came forward to donate amount for construction of Maha Samadhi of Baba and the work was entrusted to Sankarnarayana consultancy which came forward to finish the work with out any fee. “A devotee has donated the amount of Rs.35 lakh in cash for the construction of Samadhi and the same was confiscated by the police when the employees were going to buy material,” he said.
Srinivasan said that trust members would never accept donations in cash and the trust has nothing to do with confiscated amount of the Rs.35 lakh. “A devotee gave the amount to the consultancy people for buying the material.”
