AIDS patient commits suicide

AIDS patient commits suicide A 30-year HIV/AIDS patient, depressed at being neglected by his family members, committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of the Gandhi Hospital on Wednesday.

The patient, an auto driver from the Addagutta area in Secunderabad, was tested positive for AIDS a year ago and his health condition worsened two weeks ago. Family members then got him admitted into the Gandhi Hospital for treatment on May 1.

Sources however said there was no proper attention from the family members towards him after that and this caused him severe depression. He jumped to death from the seventh floor of Gandhi hospital main building Wednesday evening, according to police.

Police have formally booked a case under section 174 (Suspicious death) of the CPC.
