YSR Congress, president of the YSR congress, Jagan, K. Shiva KumarIn an effort to prepare for the ensuing bye elections to the Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula assembly constituencies and put to rest all speculations concerning his political party’s name,   former Kadapa MP Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy last night managed to take over the management of the ‘YSR Congress’ under his control.

The political party ‘YSR Congress’ was registered with the election commission by Mr K. Shiva Kumar, an advocate from Telangana and a fan of the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, and now Jagan is the owner of the party. For the consumption of the election commission, the party’s executive committee elected Jagan as its president and informed the development to the election authorities for documentary evidence.

Jagan will now launch the party at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district on March 7, according to a leader in his camp.
Shiva Kumar got the title approved from the authorities on February 1 this year, though he had registered the party in 2009 after the sudden death of YSR. Shiva Kumar informed the Election Commission of India that Jagan became a member of the party and was elected as its president by the central executive committee. In the records of the Election Commission, Jagan is now president of the YSR Congress.

“I have given the party to him in good faith and no money transactions were involved,” Shiva Kumar said adding that he would continue as its founder president of the YSR Congress.
