Trust described India as starving country

satya-sai-4The members of the Satya Sai Central Trust, which looks after the huge kingdom of the Puttaparthy based God-man Sri Satya Sai Baba and his properties worth Rs.140000 Cr, had illegally collected huge donations from rich individuals and organizations abroad by providing a wrongful and misleading picture of India, according to latest revelation of the popular Telugu daily Andhra Jyothy.

The paper said that the money-minded Trust members had unabashedly prepared CDs and documentaries of India showing the country in a poor light and on par with Ethiopia and Somalia where people mostly die of starvation.

Stating that the people of the country are starving and the Satya Sai Central Trust has been trying its best to drive away hunger from the country, the Trust members sought donations from various wealthy people abroad through a net work of agents, the daily said.

“The agents used to get 25 percent of the collections as commission. Trust members diverted 50 per cent of the collections to their personal accounts and ultimately Sai Central Trust used to get the meager 25 per cent of the donations,” the paper said, adding that the Trust members had put in place an international network for collecting donations in the name of Satya Sai Baba.

The daily also alleged that the Trust is operating like a Swiss Bank where Indian politicians have kept their illegal earnings and black money with Baba and drawn their money whenever they wanted.

“A former Maharashtra Chief minister had stashed away his Rs.1000 Cr black money and a former minister from the state had hidden more than Rs.2000 Cr in the Trust bank accounts,” charged the paper.
