Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and congress party president Sonia Gandhi today paid their last respects to the departed spiritual leader Sri Satya Sai Baba at Puttaparthy.
After reaching the Prashanthy Nilayam, first Manmohan Singh offered flowers at the feet of the Baba and sat in silence mourning the Baba’s death and offering prayers. Nest Sonia Gandhi followed suit by paying floral tributes and offering prayers in silence.
Next, Union Minister Ambika Soni who accompanied the Prime Minister from Delhi, Governor ESL Narasimhan and chief minister Kiran kumar reddy paid floral tributes and offered prayers to Baba.
Earlier, Narasimhan and Kirankumar Reddy received Manmohan and Sonia Gandhi at the Puttapathy air port when they arrived in a special aircraft from Delhi.
