Is it the time for our leaders to introspect?

Hyderabad too is not behind when it comes to raising its voice against the heinous crime that shook Delhi and many parts of the country. World Telugu Conference on one side and protests in Hyderabad in support of the other side went parallely, thanks to the media for giving due importance to the public voice.

When 23-year-old victim was brutally raped, thrashed with iron rods and thrown out of the bus naked by half-a-dozen people, everyone in the country hit the roads. People in Hyderabad took out rallies almost everyday at the famous Necklace Road. They even chased away some of the politicians from the spot who apparently tried to attract media's attention with their speeches at the rallies.

While protests were going on, World Telugu Conference started in Tirupati with an aim to spread the sweetness of Telugu language. On Saturday, the entire world woke up to a sad news, the 23-year-old woman who battled with life for a couple of days closed her eyes forever taking a part of almost everyone's lives who treated her as the sweet daughter of India and brave sister of everyone.

Saturday was also the concluding day of World Telugu Conference in Tirupati. While people were crying, it was really unfortunate that leaders took part in World Telugu Conference on the last day and were captured by photography lenses in all smiles, said observers who were extremely unhappy about a couple of leaders in the state. How could leaders take part in conferences and meetings of joy when the prime minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi themselves were almost in tears over the death of India's daughter, questioned the observers. Anyway, it's high time for the leaders in the state to introspect, they added.

Today, on Sunday, people in Hyderabad once again took out peace rally at Necklace Road in Hyderabad to condole the death of the 23-year-old Delhi victim and also demanded the justice for the victim at the earliest. As Sonia Gandhi rightly said, her death will not go in vain. Lets hope that culprits would be punished sevely.
