Kiran 'not out batsman'

On a lighter vein, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who was the state cricket champion seems to retain his form till date. His batting prowess was visible while at the AP Residential College in Rampachowdavaram in the East Godavaari district, on Sunday. After the overnight stay at the hostel, CM joined the students for a game of cricket. He played so well that each volley he sent with his willow marked a special mention to his agility and ability. The various bowlers of the college got exhausted, but could not get him out. After a splendid not-out knock, CM remarked `none can get me out’. Though it was meant to his on field skills, the quote holds good for his political tenure too feel critics.

Amidst turmoil, he took over the state leadership and went on his way. Inspite of hard feelings with the other senior leaders he continued his saga. Even his bitterness with the PCC Chief could not get him down. Later he went for a cabinet re-shuffle, after the Sakala Janula Samme by the  Telangana groups. While the T stir was on, he concentrated on projects in other places and spear headed developments.

Then came the re-shuffle, which saw many controversies. Some existing ministers were replaced and new ones added. Even some portfolios were curtailed. Yet inspite of growing controversies, there was none to get him replaced. Then the liquor scam sprang up and many elite cabinet colleagues though explicitly said that the investigations were at the behest of the CM, could do nothing to him, politically.

Everything settled at its own pace, harming the CM, in no way. And of course the recent byelections debacle that spelt doom to the present ministry was swayed in view of the ongoing Presidential poll. And probably after that conveniently forgotten. So it simply means that in `Team Andhra’, CM is a `not out batsman’, till date. He has stood like a wall reminding our veteran batsman Rahul Dravid amidst controversies. At times fired his salvos like master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and with the high command, maintained his cool like Captain Cool MS Dhoni.

On the whole he is one `not out batsman’ in the present context and of course an all rounder, probably the best. At times it makes one ponder, that by giving him a political career we have deprived Team India of a very good player.  (With inputs from internet- AW AarKay)
