German Automobile maker BMW is planning to launch petrol variants of its x3 and x5 SUV in India. The x3 petrol version shall be introduced in the 28i whereas x5 petrol version in the 35i variant.
 
BMW India is reported to have imported two batches each of x3 28i and x5 35i variants. Each batch has 24CKD units of petrol SUVs. The x3 28i variant pumps out a huge 237 BHP and 353 Nm of torque powered by a 2.0- litre four cylinder petrol units. The X5 35i version pumps out 296 BHP and 407 Nm of torque powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder petrol unit. Both the versions use 8-speed steptronic transmission. The new variant imported comes with an xDrive AWD system.
 
BMW has surveyed the Indian automobile market and has decided to launch these petrol versions. As more and more Indian consumers are preferring gasoline powered cars, BMW has decided to provide fuel options to the consumers.
