AzTA (Arizona Telugu Association) is a nonprofit organization, established in 1989, whose mission is to preserve and enhance Telugu heritage and celebrating Telugu traditions and collaborate with diverse organizations to promote Indian culture, by bringing the Telugu community onto a single platform.
Mr. Venkat Kommineni, the man behind AzTA
Mr. Venkat Kommineni is acting as the president of AzTA. He has 17 years of experience in all the aspects of Information Technology including databases, infrastructure, operations, application development, security, DR/ BC Strategies, data warehousing and enterprise architecture. Holding the leadership roles in many global and large organizations, Mr. Venkat Kommineni had over 12 years of experience.
It is under such a legend’s leadership, the Arizona Telugu Association is able to give the shade to the thousands of Telugu people abroad and fill their lives with the happiness.
Mr. Venkat Kommineni’s intention was to see that, no Telugu people, suffer in the foreign countries. So he aimed at providing the quality service to the Telugus and is thus doing his level best, through AzTA.
Especially, when celebrations are to be concerned in AzTA, a large group of Telugu people gathers at a single place and celebrate every Telugu festival grandly. In the same way, this year, they are coming forward to celebrate Diwali on November 14th.
Among the several biggies, who is attending the celebrations, G Janardhan Reddy, who owns Pasand Indian Cuisine’ restaurant and also works for Dignity Health, a California based non-profit organization, that operates hospitals and ancillary care facilities in 17 states, is also attending AzTA Diwali celebrations.
Several cultural programmes, dramas and other social activities are planned for this year’s Diwali event in AzTA.
The event will include a few of the cultural activities by the local talent over there. Even Arizona State University (ASU) students perform music and dance shows and along with that, the association even planned Bingo game.
On the other side, the kids would be participating in drawing and costume competition on the same day.
Not leaving the women staring at others who are enjoying, even several stalls containing Indian dresses and Jewelry also will be set up, to excite the women and involve them, in buying those.
Finally, remembering that, it is Diwali celebration, the people celebrate the festival with the firecrackers.
If this is one side of the celebration, on the other side, the Youth Committee Volunteers Registration, guidance on last will and testament desk, followed by a traditional Telugu dinner, will form the part of AzTA 2015 Diwali celebrations.
AzTA Diwali celebration programme schedule
The programme starts at sharp 3.30 pm, with kids drawing competition up to 4pm, followed by the costume parade competition on stage and the rest of the programmes will take place, up to 9 pm.
