Harshavardhan Rane made his name first in television then went into movies. But the actor seems to have the penchant of exploring every possible field, which is why he is now switching to production.
Looks like a short film has done what three mainstream Tollywood flicks couldn't do for actor Harshvardhan Rane-earn him a ticket to Bollywood. The actor's performance in the recently-released short film, Infinity seems to have caught the attention of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
"I got a call from Bhansali's office saying that they were impressed with my performance in Infinity and asked me if I could come over to meet the director. I was not expecting it in the least and was obviously very thrilled," shares Harsh.
The day before he was supposed to leave for Mumbai, he was told to come sporting a tribal look. "I went to his office wearing a black kurta, with kajal in my eyes and sporting four kundals (earrings). I was very nervous. That's when Bhansali walked in smiling, and I was a little dumbstruck for a while," recalls Harsh.
Apparently, Sanjay seemed pretty impressed with Harsh and asked him if he could dance. "He was shown a video of mine dancing with a hood on and he just wanted to check if it was really me. I was amazed at how informed he was about Tollywood filmmakers." The meeting, we hear, was successful and Harshvardhan bagged a role in his upcoming flick Ram Leela, the actor however remained tightlipped about his role.
