After a few days, Vijay Salgaonkar’s elder daughter (Ishita Dutta) will be filmed during her bath, by one of her male friends, Sameer Deshmukh (Rishab Chaddha), during the college tour. That guy will later come to Vijay’s house, while he is not at home. Sameer threatens Nandhani (Shriya Saran) and Ishita to leak the video, if they do not agree to satisfy his sexual desires. In a war between the three, Ishita kills Sameer and the two women buries him in the surroundings of their house.

How Vijay tried to defend, from being his family convicted, forms the rest of the story.

Drishyam Analysis

Drishyam Movie Review and Ratings

The first half of the movie shows a middle class family happy life, where a couple with two children, live happily, watching movies, shopping, etc. After a few of happy incidents, the actual story picks up, when Ishita goes out on a college tour and tricked into a trap.

The second half of the film is what all it deals. The guy, who trapped Ishita, will be killed and buried. Since then, the story revolves around police inquiries and family plans to escape from going to jail. The family faces torture from a lady police, who is mother of Sameer and finally, the movie ends, when Vijay reveals the murder mystery to Sameer parents, on the promise his family will not get into trouble. On the whole, it is second half, which makes the audience go crazy with the terrific narration.

Performance

Ajay as Vijay has given his best. He is perfectly suited as a middle class man, who cares his family and assures to be with them in all the odds. Shriya Saran really got to do a challenging role this time. She would be identified in Bollywood too now.

Along with these, it is Tabu’s performance, which took the movie to a next level. She is perfect as a promising cop and rest other characters are perfectly suited for their roles and gave their fabulous performances.

The narration appears simple, but the back ground music and the camera work make the scene bigger than actually it is. There are many scenes in the film that are nail biting. Especially the climax will not let you sit comfortably on the seat, as you would move to the edge of the seat. Nishikanth Kamat did not have much scope to show his directional skills, as he had, dropped the remake as it is.

Drishyam Final Word

Drishyam is a sure watchable flick by any kind of audience. It would be a perfect entertainer for this season.
