Story
Shah Rukh plays the role of a arrogant, agile, wicked and wild dare-devil who has the most bizarre schemes up his sleeves. Where in part 1 the Don is left to be survived; now he is seen in Thailand. From there he creates some rifts and then later was put up with his old mates in the Malaysian prison. What keeps Don 2 alive, then, is its pulsating action. It helps the pace quicken as the film progresses, including a thrilling chase sequence and a wonderfully choreographed-and-shot pre-climax sequence. Cinematographer Jason West (Rock On) and stunt director Matthias Barsch enthuse life into proceedings, ensuring that action junkies get their fill. Shah Rukh Khan is in form. The body language is cocky, the attitude flamboyant, and the smirk consistent. In a full-fledged action role, Khan goes the whole hog, pulling off the stunts with panache. Only for him, Don 2 is pretty enjoyable.
Analysis :
The film does lack a bit on the emotional quotient and human relationships are hardly given a chance to grow. But just when you think it's all sound and fury, there's a sensuous tango between Roma and the Don as the cop opts to help the gangster she once loved and the gangster is determined to save his junglee billi (wild cat), any which way. A word about the dialogues: brilliant. A word about the music: mediocre (Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy).
Performance :
The Action sequences are the highlight of the film and to create that enthusiasm in the story, connect and the sequences in the film. The chases, the fights, the demolition, destruction, break-ins, escapes have all been done with a finesse that rivals the best of Hollywood. Specially, the car chase between Priyanka and Shahrukh is a turn over in the film. Though the story is a complete work of fiction, what makes it so close to us is the action episodes the connect taken from the original film. No doubt, apart from Shah Rukh, this is for sure the Director’s film. .
Final Word ‘Don – 2’, another Action flick for fiction film lovers…
