Director Neelakanta who directed award winning films such as ‘Show’, ‘Missamma’, has taken a break for couple of years, after his ‘Mr. Medhavi’, made a comeback through ‘Virodhi’. No matter, how the result of Movie is, Neelakanta’s Directorials are watched by certain set of Audience. This time, it is Srikanth, who is the Hero of the film. Srikanth, who was known as a family Hero, started changing his image through the film ‘Khadgam’. Now, ‘VIrodhi’, fetches Director Neelakanta’s comeback or just seems to be like any another film, you yourself find out, with the Review given below;

Story:

The Story Stars when a group of Naxals kill a corrupted Minister Jangayya (Ahuti Prasad). In order to rescue them, Naxals kidnap,  a Journalist, Jayadev (Srikanth), who is present at the time of Naxals killing the Minister. Jayadev will be taking Jangayya’s Interview, at this time. From here, the Story takes many turns, as the entire Political force is involved in getting back Jayadev alive, the differences arising in ‘Naxal Dalam’, as Gopi (Ajay), works for his own benefit, not considering the rules of the group. Jayadev, who observes this, tries to change the thought process of entire Naxal group. Weather, Jayadev succeeds in this or not, weather Gopi succeeds being a Leader, with all his greedy actions, and what message does this Movie planning to give to the society.

Analysis:

Director Neelakanta, who is known for his intelligent screen play and direction skills, has succeeded in maintaining the same, with ‘Virodhi’, to a certain extent. The film is not for regular audience though. This is no doubt, a message oriented flick. Kamalini Mukherjee plays Srikanth’s love interest in the film, and has her bit to do in this film. The Music scores, composed by RP Patnaik, are not that upto the mark, except background scores in some sequences. More than first half, second half of the film succeeds in maintaining the hype, and this is a savior for the film. The Cinematography handled by award winning camera man, Rama Chandra, is good enough. Other Star Cast of the film, like Ajay, Kamal Kamaraju, Ahuti Prasad act according to the roles given to them.

Technicalities:

Screen play, Direction of the film is good. The dialogues are as per the situation and not exaggerating, the Star Cast in the film was apt, Music was not that rewarding, editing was OK, Cinematography was good, and since it is not a romantic jorner film, there was not much to experiment with the camera, the back ground score was parallel with the situation.

Final Word: ‘Virodhi’, an experimental flick, from a Intelligent Director.
