The story : Based on the true story of Paritala Ravi, Ram Gopal Verma churns out various colours and forms of violence emanating from revenge in this movie. Killing out of jealousy forms part of the beginning of the movie story where the versatile actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, playing the role of politician Nagamani Reddy arranges the killing of a local leader Veerabhadraiah played by Rajendra Gupta through his goons.

Veerabhadraiah belongs to a backwards caste and his elder son begins the era of revenge against Reddys while keeping his younger brother Pratap Ravi played by Vivek Oberai away from all the web of revenge violence.

Revenge generates violence and Pratap Ravi’s elder brother played by Sushanth Singh gets killed in revenge killings sending Pratap Ravi into jungles for shelter and enabling him to plan his revenge killings.  Gradually, he rises to become a powerful politician and is feared by everyone including his enemies and police officers.

While the killings saga scores in the first part of the movie, the second part deals with how he fights his enemies from the corridors of power.

Performances : Vivek Oberoi lives the character of Paritala Ravi (Pratap Ravi) with energy, fire and venom and shows his caliber as a powerful actor while Kota Srinivasa Rao perfectly suits a villainous politician.
Shatrughan Sinha is remarkable as the chief minister. Abhimanyu Singh is superb as Bokka Reddy, the opponent to Paritala Ravi. All others too come out with energetic performances.

Not a family movie : It is not a movie for you to visit with families and children, or watch it with your lover. Neither can you find any comedy or vulgarity of pelvic dances to provoke you. Rakta charitra could be the most violent movie in the history of Tollywood and Bollywood as well. So, if you are interested in the nuances of violence and their depiction, don’t fail to view it. If you survive on revenge in life, take lessons from it.

There is nothing much to talk about technical values in the film as it looks similar to an enhanced documentary mostly.
