Director Puri Jagannath had an identity of completing the films on a fast track mode, that too in an uncompromising way. Most of his producers would be on the safe side, with his attitude and it seems Varun Tej movie also is not an exception for it.

Though Loafer was announced as the working title in the past, everyone felt that it would be changed later. Even in a few of the public meetings, Varun said that, the movie has mother sentiment and other emotional scenes. So ‘Ma Amma Seethamalaxmi’ would be the right title for it.

Reportedly, even mega family suggested Puri to change the title and in that sense, Ram Gopal Varma, who Puri treats as Guru, also suggested, Ma Amma Seethamalaxmi, as the title. But Puri is strictly committed to what he wrote and thought and so announced Loafer as the official title of the movie now.   
 
However, there are different versions heard in the Film Nagar circles, about Puri’s uncompromising attitude regarding the Loafer title.

Firstly, Chiranjeevi kept Puri aside for 150th movie and even his guru Ram Gopal Varma tweeted that, Rajamouli is the only right director for Chiranjeevi’s 150th film. So, the buzz says that, Puri was hurt by this attitude of Chiranjeevi and RGV and so was committed to the Loafer title, without compromising.

On the other side, Puri gave blockbusters, to the movies, he put a negative title, like Idiot, Pokiri, Deshamuduru etc. So the makers are expecting that, even Loafer would add to that blockbusters list.
