DJ Collections: Chart Of Losses:- Stylish Star Allu Arjun pinned many hopes on his recent outing Duvvada Jagannadham. Harish Shankar directed the film and Dil Raju bankrolled the project. The movie landed into controversies after the movie unit targeted critics. Despite of the poor word of mouth, the movie managed to mint decent figures during the opening weekend. However the collections of the film fell flat during the weekdays. The movie unit stepped out revealing that Duvvada Jagannadham grossed Rs 100 crores in its first week which left many in shock.
Not stopping here, Harish Shankar took twitter to challenge the critics announcing the official figures of Duvvada Jagannadham in Nizam. He has been trolled across the social media for his acts after which a group of Mega fans mobbed Dil Raju and his office right after he returned back from USA. Raju announced that the film minted Rs 20 crores in Nizam and it has been released by his own.
All the distributors of Duvvada Jagannadham suffered huge losses. The overseas rights have been acquired for Rs 9 crores and the movie managed to collect Rs 4.5 crores in its final run which left them lose half of their investment. The buyers across Andhra and Nizam are said to end up losing 20-30% of their investments. There are talks that Dil Raju has been pressurized to compensate for their losses from several regions. The movie unit is now worried about their hyper active behaviour before media recently.
On the whole, Duvvada Jagannadham disappointed major sections and it ended up as a below average grosser. However Harish Shankar, Allu Arjun and Dil Raju tried their best to fake it as a blockbuster. We have to wait and see how Dil Raju will compensate the losses for his buyers with whom he shares a close bonding. Duvvada Jagannadham is expected to end up collecting close to Rs 60 crores in its final run informed analysts.
