Court notices to Mahesh Babu

Mahesh Babu along with other Srimanthudu team was issued the notices from the city civil court, based on copyright violations on the movie script.

Sharath Chandra, a writer filed a petition against the makers, alleging that, Srimanthudu movie was based on his novel ‘Chachchenta Prema’, which was published in ‘Swathi’ magazine in 2012.

The writer said that he later planned to make it a movie with Samudrala as the director, but it did not take off.

As known, Bollywood star hero Hrithik Roshan bought rights of Srimanthudu to remake it in Hindi, even the case was filed on Hrithik too. The writer has also requested the Court to stay the remake of this film in Hindi.

The third additional judge Singareddy had issued notices to the makers. Senior lawyers V R Machavaram and Pavani Sivakumar had taken up the case of Sharat Chandra. This case will be heard on 4th March.

It is a tradition in the film industry, to file cases on the makers, regarding the script copyright violations. But generally incidents like these takes place before the movie’s release or in the first week of release.

On the contrary, Sharath Chandra filing the case after Mahesh Babu’s starrer already secured a huge blockbuster and completed its run in the theaters, is producing several suspects. However, it should be seen, how Mahesh and other crew would come out of the case.
