Creative directors usually dislike remaking of a film as there will not be any scope for their creativity. Puri Jagannadh is one of the directors who create own story line for a movie making. But he gave a nod to a remake of Mohan Babu's film for his son Vishnu.
It is "Assembly Rowdy" as the word goes round in the filmnagar. The original movie was directed by B.Gopal. But Puri Jagannadh accepted to make some changes in the script to suit the present day political scenario and direct.
The news is not officially confirmed but if the film is to be taken up it has to be handled dexterously after studying the politics well in advance as the films are facing objections with the smallest reason.
In the original story the hero Mohan Babu who was jailed on the charge of a murder contests the elections and wins Assembly seat. But as per the latest order of the Supreme Court, a person who is convicted for a jail sentence for more than 3 years imprisonment is not qualified to hold a Membership of an Assembly or Parliament. In those circumstances a person in the jail cannot contest in the elections also. Recently two MPs from Loksabha and one from Rajyasabha were disqualified following the judgment of Supreme Court. Supreme Court’s question is if a person in jail cannot vote, how he can contest in the elections?
The very essence of the movie became legally impossible now. The movie can only be made as if the incident happened some time back narrated by some elderly person to others.
But Puri Jagannadh must be having some solution for this otherwise he would not have given a nod if he did in the first place. If he takes it up he will certainly give a good treatment to suit Manchu Vishnu who is enjoying his success with movies like Denikaina Ready.
