Actor Sunil has decided to make audiences see his emotionally devotional side after making everyone laugh heartily. Taking up a serious role, he has agreed to work for Bhakta Kannappa, which is Tanikella Bharani's second directorial project after Mithunam.
A celebrated writer and an Oscar worthy director too, Tanikella Bharani will take up the story of one of Lord Shiva's greatest devotees. The film will be shot simultaneously in Telugu, Kannada and Tamil, taking Sunil to places far beyond Tollywood. While the script is being readied, Sunil is happy to do his homework for the role, which was initially expected to be offered to Prabhas.
Bahubali or not, Prabhas is not a part of this film, despite hailing from the same family as the original 1976 Bhakta Kannappa actor Krishnam Raju. Buzz is that Prabhas himself recommended Sunil for the remake, as it would suit a person who does not have a set image among the audiences. This just means, Prabhas is too engrossed in his warrior role for a while. Shooting for the film is scheduled to begin next April. With Tanikella Bharani as the director, Sunil has an opportunity to flex his acting muscles.
