Potugadu producer Lagadapati Sridhar is upbeat about Manchu Manoj's upcoming 'creative' entertainer. The film has four heroines and has received an A from the censor board. No worries, says the producer, as the film is sure to make people watch it more than one time.
All four actresses Simran Kaur Mundi, Sakshi Chowdhary, Rachel and Anupriya are former models, he says, adding that the glamor show must have been responsible for the A certificate. However, his target audience are the 'youth' in the 18-30 bracket, Lagadapati confirmed. Potugadu is an entertainer with a lot of punches, both in action and comedy.
The producer has roped in the director for the film's inspiration Govindaya Namaha, a Kannada hit. But, the young and talented Pawan Wodeyar has ensured the film connects to the Telugu audiences. The concept is reportedly very original, which has been a proven success in Karnataka.
After carefully analyzing what the Telugu viewers want, the makers of Potugadu are quite positive that the film will receive an outstanding reception at the 300 plus theaters it is releasing in. Sreedhar Sipana has given the dialogues, while Achu composed the tunes. Two hit tunes from the original have been retained in its Telugu remake.
Potugadu is considered to be wading into risky waters amid the political unrest prevalent in AP. Still, the film is expected to provide clean entertainment that will be remembered even later.
