The opening test match between India and Australia is likely to be doubtful to play, as the first test was scheduled to be played at the Gabba on December 4. According to sources, Australian key players Shane Watson, David Warner and Brad Haddin are not in perfect mind set at the moment after the death of their close friend Phillip Hughes on Thursday.
Cricket Australia chief James Sutherland has released a statement that BCCI has been completely supporting Australian players situation. Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting insists that if the players don't want to play in the opening test match in Gabba, then no one should be forced. He added if players will have to make the decision they want to play in first test match then it has to go ahead, but all the players have to make that decision soon.
Cricket Australia official James Sutherland said he also had similar thoughts, that the opening Test match was not even on anybody's mind in the Australian camp.
