It is 199th Test Match for Sachin Tendulkar at the Edens. It will be a memorable event for cricket lovers all over the world for Kolkata has planned a grand farewell for the Maestro. The match begins on Wednesday but preparations for a memorable farewell have begun in the City of Joy.
The farewell and tributes to the legend started on Sunday with a tableau saluting the Master Blaster that was flagged off to travel all over the city till Nov 10, which is the final day of the Test Match. On Monday an exhibition was inaugurated at a Maidan tent that comprised of 100 photographs.
Other programs on the occasion will be as follows:
One lakh copies of brochure felicitating Tendulkar will be distributed at the match venue, Eden Gardens and masks featuring Sachin Tendulkar will be distributed to spectators in the stands on the first day of Test Match. Match tickets will have photos and sketches of Sachin to become a collector's item. The entrance to the dressing rooms will feature a larger-than-life wax statue of the Little Master. 200 giant screens have been planned all over the state by the West Bengal government.
During the match Piloo Bhattacharya, a local artist will play a musical tribute at the Eden.
Flower petals of rose weighing 199 kg will be showered from three light aircrafts on the Eden Gardens after the final day’s match.
It will be a truly befitting farewell to Sachin the greatest legends of Cricket.
