Indian Shooters secure Olympic berths at Doha

The Indian ace shooters Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Imran Hassan Khan finish on a high, taking number of Olympic berths to eleven. On the concluding day of the Asian Shooting Championships at Doha on Saturday the Indian shooters grabbed more Olympic quota.

Manavjit shot an overall score of 139 to win the gold in the men's trap event and the ticket to London. His effort gave India its seventh gold of the competition in the senior category. Imran finished fifth but as all the other shooters above him had already bagged Olympic quotas, the qualifying spot for the London Olympics came his way.

Ace shooter Manavjitā€™s success was from hard earned efforts, which he executed with ease. It was really a memorable outing for India.  But the attempt of Imran was not much impressive. The last round prowess displayed by the shooter showed much promising outing at the London Olympics.  Finally, Indians finished with seven gold medals for the senior category.  Also the team won the team gold and silver in the 50M rifle 3-position and trap respectively.
