U Mumba successfully managed to beat Bengaluru Bulls 24-23 in Match 23 of fourth season of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League on Friday at Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna. Anup Kumar from U Mumba and Rohit Kumar from Bengaluru Bulls played well.
In points tally, with 4 wins from 7 games and pocketing 22 points U Mumba at second spot in the points table whereas Bengaluru Bulls are at 5th spot with scoring three wins and 20 points.
Bengaluru Bulls were always having the upper hand in the first half. Bulls managed to take out Anup Kumar and Rishank Devadiga, both important players for U Mumba, to take the 2-0 lead. Rakesh Kumar was shown Green Card in the match for prompting during the raid when both the team were equal at 4-4. However, Rohit Kumar scored first all-out of the game when just few minutes were remaining to finish the first half and took the lead to 14-8 at the break.
Later, Some quality play from U Mumba in last few stages of the game gave them 9 points between 28th and 32nd minute, taking the momentum towards them. Anup Kumar again came to the rescue as he scored ninth raid point to level the score 20-20 after Bulls managed to keep their lead till the last three minutes of the game. U Mumba again scored two tackle points to take the lead 24-22 and successfully countered Bengaluru Bulls, who could not pull a win after scoring a point as they lost 24-23.
Before that, U Mumba’s star raider Anup Kumar, who opened account for U Mumba in the first half, played well and lifted his team’s performance by taking out two Bulls defender, Surendra Nada and Mohit Chhillar. Although Bulls managed to maintain their 5-point lead, U Mumba scored an all out in 32nd minute to reach 20-19.
