Indian Hockey Coach quits

Chief coach of Indian Hockey Terry Walsh stepped down from the coach post following the fall out between him and Hockey India. The coach was not happy with the bureaucracy in Indian hockey and wanted more freedom when it came to running the affairs of the team. Last month Walsh resigned to the post suddenly but due to the intervention of Sports Ministry, he gave a second thought.

Sources say that previous financial issues of Terry Walsh with USA Hockey was discussed. He was surprised by Hockey India president raising the topic and so Walsh decided not to renew his contract. Walsh as Indian coach gave phenomenal success to Indian team. After long time, Men's team gold medal in Asian games and also the Test series against Australia.
