Actor turned politician and MP from Mathura, Hema Malini is under severe attack from her constituency residents. The localites have staged a protest and burnt her effigy over Hema Malini's absence in the constituency. After the recently concluded election, Hema visited Mathura constituency only once and this has irked the people.

The residents of Mathura also raised slogans against Hema and government in their protest. A trade union leader said, “Hema Malini's aim is to become a minister in Narendra Modi's government and she is not concerned about the constituency. Her promises made before the elections are just a stunt and Smriti Irani is much better than Hema who manages to visit Amethi even after the loss.”

The Mathura BJP workers also had no clue about Hema Malini and when asked about her arrival to constituency, many of them replied they had no idea.
